London Diamond Drilling was formed in 1992. Following years of diversification and expansion the business is now known as LDD Construction Limited, however the core of our business remains firmly in providing diamond drilling services across London and beyond.

Diamond Drilling

Diamond drilling is the most efficient method used to cut holes from 8mm diameter to 1000mm diameter. Openings to virtually unlimited depths can be drilled through all types of construction materials to accommodate a range of requirements and services. ‘Stitch Drilling’ (a series of interlinked holes) is used to form large or irregular shaped openings.

Track/Wall Sawing

The fastest and most precise method for cutting openings in concrete such as walls, floors and on inclined surfaces. The systems consist of a track mounted cutting head and diamond blade, which is powered by a hydraulic or electric motor. The cut is made as the blade is progressively fed into the concrete making a series of passes until the required depth is achieved.

Floor Sawing

Floor sawing is a quick and efficient method used to cut horizontal flat surfaces such as roads, pavements, runways, car parks, bridges and concrete slabs.

Consists of a large circular diamond blade mounted on a spindle and powered by diesel, petrol or 3 phase electrical source, depending on site restrictions. Typically used for cutting large openings and surface repairs where fast cutting speeds are required.

Hand Sawing

LDD Construction has a large stock of ring, cut off saws and chain saws available for contract work and hire. These hand-held portable devices are ideal for construction and demolition sites where access or workspace is limited.

Wire Sawing

This versatile and fast cutting method is typically used for extracting large sections of heavily reinforced concrete. Ideally suited where complex sections are encountered for example; bridge sections, columns and beams. A beaded diamond wire is fed at high speed through a series of pulleys whilst a constant pulling force is applied. The wire can cut through most construction materials including heavily reinforced concrete.

Brokk Robotic Demolition

LDD own and operate a large fleet of remote controlled demolition machines, providing the ideal solution for most controlled demolition projects. This specialist equipment allows the operator to remotely control the given task separate from the drilling or breaking action. With a small footprint these machines can be operated in confined spaces and provide massive productivity gains compared with traditional methods. The operator controls the machine from a safe distance using a remote control device connected via cable or radio signal. The Brokk range of robotic machines is powered by electric motors, ensuring a low noise output and the absence of exhaust fumes.

Concrete Crunching

This can be used by hand or with an attachment for the Brokk’s. Concrete crushing is quiet without vibration. It is used to crush RC beams, columns, walls and slabs in environments where noise and vibration are an issue. The concrete is crushed into small sections to allow for ease of clearing.

A quiet and efficient method of controlled demolition used to remove large concrete structures such as foundations, pillars, bearers and concrete walls. Burster heads are inserted into pre-drilled holes and a hydraulic force applied to induce a controlled crack in the concrete. Bursting is dust-free, quiet and eliminates Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS).
